What is financial freedom?

Aussies need $830,000 to be ‘financially free’

The magic number for most Australians to escape debt, take time off work and care for their families is $830,000.

New research from National Australia Bank (NAB) found that the majority of Australians would deem themselves to be “financially free” with just over $800,000.

Financially free meant being cleared of a mortgage, credit card bills and power bills, or forgoing an extra salary in the household to concentrate on raising a family.
